Cecile van Niekerk
Cecile is a clinical dietitian with a special interest in Pediatric Nutrition. She graduated with a B.Dietetics degree at the University of Pretoria in 2005. Following graduation, Cecile completed her Community Service at Potchefstroom District Hospital in the North-West Province and thereafter she was employed at Steve Biko Academic Hospital where she developed a keen interest in pediatric nutrition. Here she received extensive experience and training in the areas of lactation, neonatal and pediatric nutrition.
In 2010 Cecile started a paediatric nutrition practice called “Pae-Nut” which focuses on healthy eating habits of young children and educating parents on appropriate nutrition for their premature babies, neonates, toddlers and children. She is passionate about teaching families to have a healthy relationship with food.
Then, in 2014 she completed her Master’s degree in Nutrition (UP) which focused on childhood obesity.
Cecile has presented on pediatric nutrition topics at various CPDs, has written articles for health magazines and is a guest lecturer at the University of Pretoria. She stays up to date by attending various courses and CPDs like the 20-hour Lactation Management course, Nutrigenomic training, Field to plate, and Eatfit approach to IBS. She is a member of the Pediatric Nutrition Working Group of the University of Pretoria and Allergy Foundation of SA (AFSA).

Helena is a Clinical Dietitian with a passion for Pediatric Nutrition. She completed her B.Dietetics Degree at University of Pretoria (UP) in 2010. She subsequently started her community service year at Kalafong Tertiary Hospital after which she was offered full time employment.
She experienced and worked on a wide range of cases in the areas of premature babies, breastfeeding, malnourished children, obesity and children with food allergies. It was during this time when she developed an interest and love for pediatric nutrition.
During her time at Kalafong, she was also responsible for providing and managing student training programs and is currently a member of the Pediatric Nutrition Working Group of the University of Pretoria.
In 2016 she moved into the private sector where she mainly focused on diseases of lifestyle and weight loss programs for young and old. She also performed clinical nutrition work in several private hospitals’ Neonatal ICU’s and maternity wards where she advised new moms on breastfeeding practices and introduction of complementary foods.
Helena is also a mother of two and understands the practical implementation of nutrition for kids.
She joined the Pretoria East Therapy Centre in 2020.
