Bridget Herselman
As a physiotherapist passionate about movement and early intervention I enjoy many physical activities. With over 35 years of experience in the field of paediatric neurodevelopmental therapy I love seeing even the youngest and smallest babies express joy in movement. I am certified to assess neonates using ‘ Prechtl’s method on the qualitative assessment of general movements(GMA).” M.A.E.S therapy has broadened my scope of therapy approaches.
Enabling each baby reach their full potential through teamwork with their parents gives meaning to: ”we move to thrive”.
Practice Number: 7216602

At This Practice, We Use Physiotherapy to Assist with the Following Conditions:
High Risk Babies
These are Premature babies, babies who have experienced long hospital stays or the NICU. These babies may experience movement difficulties and struggle to explore how their bodies work thereby limiting their interaction with their environment. Our aim is to help each baby develop the skills they are missing and focus on quality of movement – how a child moves rather than just reaching milestones. Movement is three dimensional in the human body and babies need to be able to coordinate their bodies with control in all directions to achieve quality of movement. The way we use our bodies lays the foundation for the development of all other skills (e.g. visual, fine motor, speech).
Developmental Delay
The term developmental delay is used when a child displays any significant lag in their physical, cognitive, behavioural, emotional, or social development when compared to their peers of the same age. A child can lag behind in one or many areas of their development or may develop differently, for example, toe walking, bottom shuffling, W-sitting.
Physiotherapy can help your child improve his or her developmental skills by identifying issues that need to be addressed.
Genetic conditions
We treat a wide variety of genetic conditions, such as Down syndrome, muscular dystrophy, foetal alcohol syndrome.
